How long does the battery last?

Up to nine hours on a charge, with a recharge taking roughly two to three hours over the USB cord. Running it bright or on color modes will shorten a single evening's runtime.

Do I have to take it down to charge it?

The bulb is what recharges, over the included USB cord, so you take out the bulb rather than the whole fixture. That is the trade for having no wiring in the wall.

How big is it?
