Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a bucket?

Yes, and it is not included. The lid is built for a standard 5-gallon bucket, the kind sold at any hardware store, and the access ramp that comes with it does the rest.

Does it need bait?

No bait or chemical agent is required for it to work, which is unusual for a trap. Adding something with a smell to the lid can still make a new setup more interesting to a cautious mouse.

Does it kill the mouse?

That depends on how you run it. Used dry it contains rodents alive for release, and with a liquid base in the bucket it becomes permanent, which is worth deciding before you set it up.

Can I use it outside?

Indoors or in a covered outdoor spot such as a shed or a garage. Left in open weather, rain fills the bucket and wind gets at the plate, neither of which helps a mechanical trap.

How do I clean it and what is in the box?

One trap lid, one access ramp and an instruction manual, measuring about 12.2 by 2.4 by 3.1 inches. Rinse the lid and let it dry between uses, handling it with gloves rather than bare hands.
