DESCRIPTION

Shelling a bowl of nuts should not leave your hands aching or send fragments across the kitchen. This nutcracker is built for clean, controlled cracking, opening walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, pecans, and similar shells with far less effort than a stubborn hinged pair or the back of a knife. It is the tool you want out on the table when there is a full bowl to get through and more than one person reaching into it.

Comfort comes from the shape. Contoured, non-slip handles spread the pressure across your palm instead of concentrating it on one point, so repeated cracking does not wear out your grip. Serrated inner edges hold each nut in place as you squeeze, which stops it from skidding sideways and lets you apply force where the shell is weakest.

That control is what gets you whole kernels rather than a pile of splinters, which matters when you are baking, plating a cheese board, or putting together holiday treats. Because pressure builds gradually rather than releasing in one snap, shell fragments tend to stay in your hand instead of scattering across the table. The solid build handles thick shells without flexing, and the compact size stores easily in a utensil drawer. Wipe it down after use and dry it fully so the mechanism stays smooth.

  • Cracks walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, and pecans
  • Ergonomic non-slip handles
  • Serrated inner edges grip shells securely
  • Sturdy build for thick, stubborn shells
  • Compact enough for a utensil drawer
  • Wipe clean and dry after use

Clean Cracks, Not Crushed Nuts

Clean Cracks, Not Crushed Nuts

Serrated edges hold the shell steady so pressure goes where you aim it. Walnuts, hazelnuts and almonds open evenly instead of shattering into the bowl.

Kind To Your Hands

Kind To Your Hands

Contoured handles with a non slip coating spread the force across your palm, so working through a bowl of nuts does not leave your fingers aching afterwards.

Built Heavy, Stored Small

Built Heavy, Stored Small

Stainless steel with a sleek coating stands up to hard shells year after year, and at 7 by 2 inches it drops into a drawer. Appeel sees it bought as a gift as often as for the kitchen.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which nuts does it handle?

Walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds and similar everyday nuts crack cleanly. Extremely hard shells such as macadamias need extra care and a slower, steadier squeeze.

Will it bend with heavy use?

No. The body is heavy duty stainless steel rather than thin pressed metal, so it takes repeated pressure on hard shells without flexing or losing its shape.

How do I clean it?

Hand washing is recommended. It can survive a dishwasher, but washing by hand preserves the non slip coating on the handles and keeps the finish looking sharp.

Do the handles slip when I squeeze hard?

The ergonomic non slip coating exists for exactly that moment. It keeps your grip secure at the point of maximum pressure, which is when a bare metal handle would twist.

How big is it?

Seven inches long, two inches wide and about 0.8 pounds. Substantial enough to give you real leverage, compact enough to store in a utensil drawer.

HOW WE CHOOSE PRODUCTS

Three questions decide whether something makes the range. Does it work, meaning it solves a real problem in the home rather than adding another gadget to a drawer. Is it simple, meaning you can set it up and use it without a manual. Will it last, meaning the materials and the build hold up to daily use. If a product fails any of the three, we leave it out.

USING IT SAFELY

Everything here is made for ordinary household use. Follow the instructions that come in the box, keep small parts, magnets and batteries away from young children and pets, and use electrical items with the power source they were supplied with. Anything that fixes to a wall, ceiling or door needs a suitable surface and the right fittings, and the hold is worth checking now and then.

QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU BUY

If you want a measurement we have not listed, or you are not sure an item suits what you have in mind, email support@appeel.org and a person will reply within one business day. We would rather answer the question than have you order the wrong thing.
