How bright is it?

450 lumens, which is enough to light a doorway, a stairwell or a storage area clearly. It is a directional lamp rather than a floodlight, so it lights where it is pointed and not much else.

How long does it stay on?

Thirty seconds after it detects movement, then it shuts off on its own. That is fine for passing through and short for standing still, so expect it to relight if you linger.

What batteries does it take?

It runs on AA batteries, which are not included, so pick some up before you mount it. Battery power is what keeps installation free of wiring, and it is the trade you make.

Can I use it outdoors?

It is waterproof and built for varying seasonal conditions, so a porch, a shed or a side path all work. Adhesive tape holds better on a clean, dry surface, so mount it in dry weather.

How long will the LED last?

The LED is rated for over 100,000 hours, which is far longer than the batteries driving it. In practice you will be changing AAs long before the light itself gives out.
