How does it actually float?

Magnetic levitation holds the sphere above the base with no physical contact or support arm. Line it up until the field takes hold, and it lifts and rotates silently on its own.

How big is the moon?

The sphere is approximately six inches across, which reads as a decorative accent on a desk, nightstand or shelf. It is not sized to be the main light source in a room.

Is it hard to get it floating?

It takes a little patience the first few times, since the sphere has to sit over the center of the base to catch. Once you find the spot it becomes quick.

Does it make noise while it spins?
